Waterfalls, geysers, glaciers… that’s fantastic. But if you want to experience Iceland in its rawest state, join this tour and see a side of the country that’s still “being made.” You’ll start at Kleifarvatn, a deep lake with black sand shores. Then, you'll head to Seltún, where the ground bubbles and steams in shades of red, yellow, and gray, showing just how alive the earth is beneath your feet.
On this tour, you’ll see the most recent eruption areas and walk by lava that was spewed just a few years ago (and might still feel warm!). Afterward, you'll visit Grænavatn, a small crater lake that looks like someone poured green food coloring into it.
The journey also includes areas like Nátthagi, where the 2021 eruption left behind a raw lava field, and Grindavík, a fishing town that has faced major challenges since late 2023. It serves as a reminder that Iceland is both beautiful and unpredictable and that people here have learned to live with both.
Eldur og ís, fire and ice. That’s what Iceland is.
