- F-roads without an approved 4x4Kjölur (35), Kaldidalur (550), Jökulhálsleið (570), and Sprengisandur (26) all require a Lava-approved 4x4. Vehicles that are suitable for F-roads are clearly labeled "Suitable for F-Roads" in the listing.
- Closed roads and off-road drivingRoads marked red (closed/impassable) and any off-designated-road driving are excluded outright.
- Reckless drivingGross negligence, unregistered drivers, driving under the influence, racing, test driving, and any intentional act are not covered.

Highly recommend this place. Well maintained cars, everything seemed super professional. No scamming of turists trying to add extra services/charges or anything like that. Our camper van was a bit basic, but that was also expected as the price was very low. We had two amazing weeks driving 2400 km around Iceland

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an excellent experience with Lava Car Rental in Iceland. I rented a brand-new Defender for 10 days, and it was the perfect vehicle for our Ring Road adventure. The Defender handled Iceland’s constantly changing weather and diverse road conditions with ease, from strong winds and rain to gravel roads and mountain passes. It gave us complete confidence throughout the trip. The entire rental process was smooth and hassle-free. The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful from pickup to return. The vehicle was spotless, well-maintained, and performed flawlessly for the entire 10 days. Exploring Iceland’s stunning landscapes was even more enjoyable because we had such a reliable and comfortable vehicle. Amazing and easy. Car was perfect. Did self check in and was able to pick up the keys from the locked drop box. On the road within 5 mins. Drop off was quick and easy too. Dropped car off and was on the bus on the way back to airport within 10 mins. Thank you very much for helping to make our holiday seamless
