- Underside damageThis is excluded across every insurance tier, and there is no add-on that will cover it.
- Water damage from rivers, pools, or lakesWater, underside, and sand/ash damage come with unlimited self-risk. In these cases, they can charge a deposit of up to USD 7,700.
- F-roads without an approved 4x4Driving on these F-roads is strictly forbidden: Kjölur (35), Dettifoss east side (864), Kaldidalur (550), and Jökulhálsleið (570).
- Closed roads and off-road drivingKjölur (35), Þórsmerkurvegur (F249), Kaldidalur (550), and the Dettifoss east-side road (864) all require a Go Campers-approved 4x4. A breach brings a USD 500 fine on top of full damage liability.
- Natural disasters, war, and civil unrestNatural disasters, war, and civil unrest are excluded from all insurance coverage.
- Wrong fuel, roof misuse, and animal damageMisfueling, roof damage from overloading or climbing on the vehicle, and animal-caused damage are all excluded.

We rented a car through Reykjavik Cars. It was a brand-new 2026 Dacia Duster. The car was comfortable and very pleasant to drive. The owner of Green Light was an extremely nice person, and both picking up and returning the car went smoothly with no issues at all. Considering it was a new car, I would say the rental price was very good. The rental conditions and rules for using the car were also clear and transparent, so there is really nothing to complain about. I highly recommend it.

An absolutely incredible experience! We rented a camper van to drive the Golden Circle and it was the best decision of our entire trip. The vehicle was in perfect condition, clean, comfortable, and fully equipped with everything we needed to sleep under the Northern Lights. The staff was super friendly and gave us local tips we couldn't find in any travel guide. Exploring Iceland at your own pace, with no schedules or hotels, is truly priceless. 100% recommended — we'll definitely be back!

Very positive experience! We rented a 4x4 Dacia Duster for 8 days. On the road we got a flat tire, but the spare one was in excellent condition. The owner was helpful and responsive on what's app. At the very end they split costs for the flat tire between the renting company and us which was super nice!
