- Underside damageNot covered by any insurance plan. The driver assumes 100% liability for any undercarriage damage.
- Off-road, unauthorized F-roads, closed roadsThis is illegal and never covered by insurance when driven without an approved 4x4 vehicle. Kjölur (F-35) and Kaldidalur (550) are strictly forbidden.
- Windblown door damageThey explicitly state that this damage is excluded outright and there’s no coverage available as an add-on.
- Water damage and river crossingsRiver crossings are the driver's responsibility, and any damage is not covered by any of the insurance tiers.
- Reckless drivingGross negligence, unregistered drivers, driving under the influence, racing, test driving, and any intentional act are not covered.
- Other damagesWheels, suspension, batteries, non-window glass or radios are excluded across Basic plans. Upgrading to Full cover adds coverage for tire damage.

Excellent service! Highly recommended! I had a wonderful experience with this car rental. The staff was incredibly friendly, punctual, and highly professional. They made everything smooth and easy, which is exactly what you need when traveling around Iceland. I will definitely choose them again for my next trip!

Great trip, hired a Renault van for a 2 week trip around the ring road, came equipped with everything we needed and the van drove perfectly. Pickup and drop off service from the airport was much appreciated. If we come back will definitely hire with Star again!

The van was perfect. Better than we expected to be honest. Very reliable, very clean, and fully equipped ! We even got some camping gas for free before we picked up the vehicle. The guy at the reception was very friendly and helpful ! Thanks for everything.

100% hussle free experience: 5 min to pick up, 30 sec to drop off. We choose a Duster old type: it was pretty old (6 years 200k+ km) a bit battered but worked fine and clean, no problem in completing the ring road trip. major plus: compared to all the other rented Duster i've seen, our had bigger off-road tires, and you would need those since gravel roads hadve lots of stones and potholes
