  I rented a car from Key Car Rental for 12 days (17–29 June 2026), and I had a great experience. The biggest advantage was the price. Even with full coverage insurance included, it was cheaper than other rental companies. After completing the online check-in and paying in advance, I was able to pick up the car directly at the airport, which was extremely convenient. The parking lot is also just a short walk from the terminal. I rented a Hyundai Tucson. The car was in good mechanical condition with good tires, and it handled Iceland's F-roads safely and confidently. The cleanliness was acceptable—not perfect, but reasonable considering the excellent price. Another nice bonus was that the rental car came with an Orkan fuel discount tag, which gave me a special discount every time I filled up at Orkan gas stations. Returning the car was just as easy. My flight was early in the morning, so I returned the car at 5:00 AM by simply parking it in the same parking lot. Overall, I was very impressed with the service, the value for money, and the convenience. I would definitely recommend Key Car Rental to anyone visiting Iceland.

  Just dropped off our car! Very easy pick up, very easy drop off. The people were very friendly as well when dropping off. Reasonable prices for car rental. We got a rooftop tent, and it was pretty easy set up. They also offered shuttle to the airport after dropping off the car. Would recommend!

  I’ve rented here twice. Both times were great. I went with the full insurance package so there was zero worry. Last year, I rented the Mitsubishi, and it was great. Handled the snowy weather perfectly. This year I got the Suzuki Ventra (mostly because I have a goal to drive every brand of car at least once), but I wouldn’t get that car again. The sensors kept freaking out because the weather, but that’s a Suzuki problem and not a Key car rental. Otherwise the car was great and handled the winter storms well, the service was wonderful both times, and they will always be my go to rental when I come back to Iceland. Great pricing, too. I’ll be back in 2027

  I recently rented a vehicle from Key Car Rental (booked via Northbound) in Iceland, and I highly recommend them. I rented a Toyota Land Cruiser 7-seater for my trip from March 31, 2026, to April 7, 2026. The 4x4 vehicle was essential for navigating the roads in Iceland, and the car performed perfectly. Since my pick-up was after office hours (19:00) at KEF Airport Shuttle, the process was set up for a smooth self-service experience. After completing the online check-in, I was able to pick up the unlocked car with the keys waiting in the glove box in front of the Aurora Hotel. This after-hours arrangement was seamless and hassle-free. The rental package was excellent value, including a Full Insurance Package that provided comprehensive coverage, including Sand and Ash Protection (SAAP), with a Zero Excess Policy (EUR 0 self-risk/deductible for damages). It also included one Extra Driver free of charge. Finally, the company was very proactive about customer safety, sending multiple urgent weather and road closure warnings, including one for the main road between Reykjavík and Keflavík Airport on April 6. This was invaluable for adjusting my travel plans safely. Highly satisfied with Key Car Rental!
