Terms & Conditions


Travel to Iceland  offers a variety of tours, packages tickets and services ("products"). Because our Terms & Conditions contain legal obligations, we encourage you to read them carefully. They form the basis on which bookings are accepted by Travel to Iceland . The purchase of any travel services offered by Travel to Iceland  constitutes a contractual arrangement between the person making the booking and Travel to Iceland, and represents acceptance of Travel to Iceland‘s  Terms & Conditions described here. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.


Bookings have to be made by email to info@traveltoiceland.is.
When you have decided to book a received offer from Travel to Iceland, Travel to Iceland  will send you a document with the service and price you agreed on and a payment overview. You will be asked to send an email to confirm the receiving of the document and agreeing on the information given in the document.
Once Travel to Iceland  has received your confirmation and the deposit payment has arrived, Travel to Iceland  will start with making the reservations for the service you have confirmed. Once everything is confirmed we will send you a confirmation email with all the details of your booked services.
When you have booked a self-drive tour you will receive the road book once we have received the final payment. All other documents, vouchers, road map, useful travel information, will be received on your day of arriving in Iceland. For all other booked services you will receive the travel documents on your arriving day in Iceland.


Once you have confirmed a booking by email you will receive a non-refundable deposit invoice of 20% of the total package price. Travel to Iceland  will send an invoice for the final payment 6 weeks prior to arrival for individual travellers and 8 weeks for group service.
The payment shall reach Travel to Iceland  within 10 days of the invoice date.
If a booking is made after the 6 or 8 weeks prior to arriving Travel to Iceland will send directly an invoice for the total amount and payment shall reach Travel to Iceland within 10 days of the invoice date.
In case of delay on payments, Travel to Iceland  will reserve the right to treat the booking as a cancellation and withdraw its confirmation of services.
For large group bookings, + 30 paying participants, Travel to Iceland  can require an extra 10% deposit for the accommodation which is non-refundable if the group is cancelled less than 6 months prior to arrival.


Payments can be done with credit card, (VISA, Master Card or American Express) or bank transfer. When payment is done with a credit card we will add a handling fee of 3,5% to each credit card payment. This fee is NOT included  in the offer you received or prices on our website. When you decide to pay with a credit card the amount will be charged in Icelandic Krona (ISK) according to the daily exchange rate.


9 people travelling together is seen an individual’s travelling together. 10 to 29 people travelling together is seen as a group and 30+ people travelling together is seen as a big group.


All rates quoted in offer or shown on our website are based on current purchasing prices in Iceland.
All prices in offers and on our website www.traveltoiceland.is are per person, unless otherwise specified and are displayed including VAT and all other taxes (subject to change of such taxes), unless stated differently on our website or the confirmation email. When purchasing flights, airport taxes and fuel charge, will be added to the holiday cost.
Travel to Iceland  reserves the right to increase prices already quoted in offers or published on the website without notice in the event of currency fluctuation, government taxes, or due to any other cost increases that are beyond Travel to Iceland’s  control.
After the invoice has been issued the price is guaranteed against any surcharge, unless an increase is due to government laws or currency changes.Travel to Iceland  will absorb an amount equivalent to 5% of the package price. Amounts that exceed the 5% will be charged and clients will be entitled to cancel their booking with a full refund if the surcharge exceeds 10%.
Travel to Iceland  is not responsible for any changes in currency exchange rates.
Travel to Iceland  reserves the right to correct wrong pricing in a confirmed booking. In such cases, you will be informed as soon as possible and notified about the correction. Should you need to pay additional fee, you will have the option of doing so. However if you choose to cancel your booking, you will get a full refund. You will be refunded in the same currency as your purchase was made. No compensation will be paid and Travel to Iceland  shall have no further liability to you.


A preliminary rooming list for groups must be received no later than 8 weeks prior to arrival date and a final rooming list at least 4 weeks prior to client's arrival.
Bookings made as individuals need to give the names of the participants when confirming the booking.


All cancellations must be made by letter or e-mail and confirmed by Travel to Iceland . Cancellation is confirmed when In conformity with business practices within the Icelandic travel industry, the Travel Agent is obliged to charge cancellation fees to passenger(s) as follows:
Time of cancellation
More than 60 days prior to arrival, deposit fee with a minimum of 20% of the total price.
59-31 days prior to arrival 40% of the total price.
30-21 days prior to arrival 50 % of the total price.
20 days or less prior to arival 100% of the total price. 
GROUPS (10-29 people)
Time of cancellation
More than 60 days prior to arrival, deposit fee with a minimum of 20% of the total price.
59-41 days prior to arrival 40% of the total price.
40-31 days prior to arrival 50 % of the total price.
30 days or less prior to arival 100% of the total price.
Please note that cancellation of one or more passengers in an individual or group booking may cause a price increase for the group or a cancellation fee according to above rules for those cancelled passengers. Cancellation terms may be stricter than stated above when dealing with conferences and large groups (+29 people).
The counting method for cancellation charges excludes the day of arrival, and a week is seven (7) days.
A deposit payment is NEVER refunded.


Tailor-made Itineraries: Travel to Iceland  will not charge any fee if you request a tailor-made offer for individuals.
Change fee: If you wish to make a change to an already confirmed booking, such as adding nights into the program, changing hotels or dates a change fee of 15.000 ISK will be charged.


Travel to Iceland  disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accidents, sickness or changes in schedules caused by weather, strikes or any other irregularity outside Travel to Iceland‘s  control. Travel to Iceland reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries or departure times, without prior notice, should the necessity arise. In case of any changes in flights (domestic and international), the passenger has to pay any additional cost caused by this, at the time the service is provided (extra hotel nights, meals, transfers etc.).


We consider adequate travel insurance to be essential. Travel to Iceland  cannot accept responsibility for any cost for you or any of your travel party that may incur as a result of failing to take out insurance cover. Please read your policy and take it with you on holiday. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance cover you purchase is water sports, riding tours, snow scooter tours and winter sports whilst on holiday it is your responsibility to ensure that you obtain the relevant insurance cover.


Iceland is a part of the Schengen agreement. For details on general visa, passport requirements and health information view the official website for Iceland Ministry for Foreign Affairs, www.mfa.is.
It is the passengers' responsibility to ensure that they are in possession of all necessary travel and health documents before departure, including a passport valid at least three months after return travel date. We cannot accept liability if you are refused entry onto any transport or into any country due to failure on your part to carry contact documentation. If failure to have any necessary travel or other documents results in fines, surcharges or other financial penalty being imposed on us, you will be responsible for reimbursing us accordingly. In the event we are asked to reissue tickets that have been lost, destroyed or stolen and we agree to do so, any charges incurred as a result of this will be payable by you.
Passengers suffering from any known or suspected medical condition, or women more than 28 weeks pregnant, must notify us at least 30 days before departure. They must also produce a medical certificate confirming fitness to travel. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel bookings if relevant certificates are not produced and we will not be liable for any operator's refusal to carry any person who has not notified us of their condition.


If you have a problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant supplier (e.g. hotel) immediately so that they can endeavour to put things right. If your complaint cannot be resolved locally, your complaint must reach Travel to Iceland  within 30 days from departure from Iceland. Otherwise possible compensation is not valid.
